OFFICIAL SUB LIST
The league Director maintains an official Sub List for each league we offer in a particular session. Anyone wishing to be a substitute player for one of the leagues must be on that official sub list for that league. (Current league members don't have to be on the sub list.) The league Director will give the sub list to any player who requests it, but the list is not accessible to the public.
Ladder League Substitutes
When a player needs a sub, the player is supposed to ask a sub on the list who is roughly the same skill level to substitute for him/her. The “rule of thumb” is the sub should be within .25 rating of the player he/she is subbing for. If the sub agrees, then the player should tell the sub exactly which court they will be on and at what time.
While we really try to prevent skill mismatches on a court, it does happen occasionally. For example, if a player is quickly moving his/her way up the league, that player’s DUPR rating might be lagging behind. The player could move to a court where everyone else has a DUPR more than .3 higher. Consequently, if someone subs for that player, the sub could also be .3 lower in official skill rating than everyone else on the court.
